Patricia D. “Pat” Messer, 58, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, August 31, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Pat was born April 15, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Luther and Peggy (Thurlo) Butcher and has been a longtime Independence resident. She was a dining room manager and had worked for Shoney’s and Ponderosa restaurants throughout the area. She was a member of the Blue Summit Baptist Church. She leaves behind the love of her life William L. Manning; her daughters, Peggy Beyer and her husband Michael of Independence, MO, Angela Mullin of Harrisonville, MO, and Constance Cochran of Raytown, MO; her sons, Richard Mullin and his wife Doreen of Lee’s Summit, MO, Jeffrey Mullin of Independence, MO and William Manning and his wife Shannon of Raytown, MO; brothers, Robert Butcher and his wife Cheryl of Garden City, MO and Michael Butcher of Independence, MO; sisters, Deborah Wilson and her husband Larry and Rhonda Perfater all of Independence, MO and 17 grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
