Michael Vincent Bauman, 74, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, with his beloved family at his side.
Born on March 28, 1951, Michael lived a life marked by deep faith, quiet strength, and a boundless curiosity. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his generous spirit and a quick wit that brought smiles to those around him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Orvella Bauman; his son, Kevin Vanbibber (Sarah); grandchildren Ellie Leiker, Carter Van Bibber, and Clayton Vanbibber; his sister, Lucia Dhooge and her husband Cam; and his brothers, Tim Bauman and Tom Bauman, with his wife Diane.
He is preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Iris Leiker; his parents, Harold and Lucia Bauman; grandparents Frank and Florence Bauman, and Vincent and Lucia Komadina; his infant sister, Martha Joann; and many other loved ones now welcoming him home.
Michael had a passion for collecting—tools, computer devices, and all sorts of curiosities filled his spaces, reflecting a mind always exploring and hands always building. More than anything, though, he was a man of faith. His words, "l gave it to the Lord, I'm just along for the ride, "were a guiding light not just for himself, but for those who knew and loved him.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched with his wisdom, warmth, and steadfast love.
A memorial visitation will be from 2-3pm on Thursday, August 7th at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. His service will begin at 3pm with a reception to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Michael by sharing a kind word, lending a helping hand, or simply pausing to marvel at life's little wonders—just as he always did.
