Michael Warren Bowman passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Independence, Missouri. Michael was born on July 27, 1948 to Paul and Harriet Bowman in Princeton, Illinois.

A member of the United States Army, Michael served his country during the Vietnam War in the 191st Division. His brave service earned him a Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and dedication. After completing his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a fleet body manager for the railroad, a role he embraced for over 28 years. His colleagues admired not only his work ethic but also the lighthearted spirit he infused into the workplace, often characterized by his witty nature and playful pranks.

Michael was a graduate of Orange Glen High School in California, where he nurtured his love for adventure and the outdoor lifestyle. He enjoyed surfing along the golden coasts of California. Michael also found joy in the tranquility of the Lake of the Ozarks, where he spent countless hours hunting, camping, and enjoying float trips with friends and family.

Above all, Michael took pride in being a devoted family man. His greatest accomplishment was the love he shared with his family, and nothing brought him more happiness than watching his grandchildren play and thrive in various activities. Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unbreakable family bond. His infectious spirit and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him, but his joyful essence will remain alive in the countless memories shared with his family and friends. As we bid farewell to a father, grandfather, and friend, we celebrate a life filled with adventure, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
