Michael John Stefancik, Sr.

Michael John Stefancik Sr. died December 4, 2023, at Rosewood surrounded by family. A Visitation is planned for Monday, December 11, 2023. The family will greet guest between 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to start at 10:00 a.m., both to be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Sugar Creek, Missouri. Michael will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Missouri, following the services. In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions to be made to: Citizens Civic Relief Committee (CCRC) Food Pantry, 103 S Sterling, Sugar Creek, MO 64054, In Michael's honor.

Michael’s parents Paul and Mary emigrated to the United States from Slovakia separately and married in the United States.   Michael was born March 25, 1929, at home in Sugar Creek, Mo.  Mike graduated from Glennon High School in Kansas City Missouri.  Retired after 39 years from K C Southern Industries as a Rate Clerk.  Was a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol.  Michael was an Eucharistic Minister at St. Cyril’s parish in Sugar Creek Mo for 20 years and cut the lawn at St. Cyril’s for 30 years. 

In addition to his parents, Mike is proceeded in death by his brother Paul and sisters Mary and Margaret, his first wife Dorothy Jean (Simmermon) Stefancik, son Gary, daughter Rita Wagner, stepdaughters Kelly (Collins) Carnahan and Shawn (Collins) Norman.

He is survived by his spouse Patricia (Casey) Stefancik, son Michael (Becky), daughter Leanne Clark, son Steve (Joyce), Mark (Evelyn), stepchildren Susan Hale, Robin Sandt (Jim), Jimmy Collins, Karen Williamson, Joe Collins, Mary Collins, 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
