Mildred A. Huntoon, age 93 years, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri. Mildred was born on May 3, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to Emil and Martha Pfeiffer. She graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1949.

Mildred married Charles J. Huntoon on September 3, 1949.  Mildred was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, and to this union were born six children.  Her greatest love of all was her family.  She enjoyed attending all family functions, relished traveling with her sisters and other family members, and cherished taking care of her grandchildren.  Some of her travel destinations included Las Vegas, Florida, Colorado, Hawaii, California, Oregon, and Australia.  For her 85th birthday, she took a cruise to the Caribbean with her three daughters.  She loved going to Lake of the Ozarks and fishing, visiting casinos and playing slot machines, playing card games with family, and knitting afghans  for family members.  Mildred enjoyed listening to music, and was fond of artists like Elvis and Frank Sinatra.  She also had a soft spot for all animals, especially her kitties.

Mildred was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for over 75 years, She was a member of the Altar Society, where she assisted in cleaning the church, basement sales, food donations, and prayer calls. She was a member of the Know Your Neighbor Club, West Rock Creek PTA, and a Girl Scout Leader.  

Mildred is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Carter (Lloyd), Sandra LoPorto (Dana), and Lisa James (Tom); 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huntoon; three sons, Arthur, David, and Dennis; two grandchildren, Paula and Shaun; parents, Emil and Martha Pfeiffer; and five sisters, Kathryn Palmer, Vivian Johnson, Betty Castle, Mary Louise Ford, and June Lohe.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. Another visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Nativity of Mary Church, located at 10017 E 36th Terrace S, Independence, MO 64052, with mass immediately following. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, MO following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in Mildred's honor to Kansas City Hospice.
