Lt. Col. Julia Miles

Julia Anne Miles, 45, transferred to Heavenly assignment on October 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with full military honors. Cremation will follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Julia was born June 13, 1962 in Independence, MO to Judith Jo (Sherman) and Richard Lyle McFarlane. She leaves behind her husband, Mark Miles and her sons, Erik Michael McFarlane and Trevor Mathew King, siblings, Mary Espinosa, James Richard McFarlane and Dara Gwen Cox and many treasured relatives and friends. Lt. Colonel Julia Miles served her country in Germany, Hawaii, Overland Park, KS, Independence, MO and Washington, DC as well as humanitarian missions to Guatemala. Julia worked at North Kansas City Hospital as an Emergency room nurse. She loved gathering family and loved ones, and was a woman of great integrity and passion in all that she did. She always had time to listen and comfort. She was a member of the Osage Hills Community of Christ. She will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to Health Ministries Association for Guatemala c/o Community of Christ Auditorium 1001 Walnut Independence, MO 64050.
