Delores Miller

Delores E. Miller, 87, passed away February 26, 2011, in Keller, TX attended by her daughter, Mitzi Coffey. She was born March 19, 1923 in Gas, KS, the daughter of John and Mary Snavely, and moved to Independence, MO as a young girl. She graduated from William Chrisman High School where she was a proud member of As You Like It Literary Society and attended William Jewel College. During the Second World War she worked at Lake City Arsenal and married Lt. James E. Miller in 1944. Delores was a member of the Junior Service League and worked for the Independence School District as a substitute teacher. She was a life-long member of the Bona Fida Sorority. Delores was also a licensed real estate agent. She was stricken by a severe illness in 1973 but lived cheerfully until her death, attended by her husband until his death in 1998 and then by her loving daughter Mitzi. Delores is survived by her children Mitzi Coffey of North Richland Hills, TX, Jeff and Jane Miller of Indianapolis, IN and her three grandchildren, Christopher Coffey of North Richland Hills, TX, James A. Miller of Chicago and Kathleen Miller of Indianapolis. A visitation will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
