Fred Miller

Fred A. Miller, 95, of Independence, MO passed away May 4, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Carson Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will follow the chapel service at Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, MO. Fred was born March 25, 1917 in Wakenda, MO to Herman and Anna Miller. In 1940 he married Betty Kathleen Willard and together they lived on a farm near Carrollton, MO for eleven years before their move to Independence in 1951. He was a faithful member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Fred was preceded by his wife of 68 years, Betty K. Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Colombo and husband Louis; son, Gary Miller; granddaughter, Gina Sigillito; and a host of extended family and friends.
