Emogene Letha Minor, 91, Overland Park, KS. Emmy passed away Monday, November 15, 2010.

Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Friday, November 19, 2010 at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO.

Emmy was born on February 14, 1919 in Edwards, MO, the daughter of James Manford and Maggie Gertrude (Balke) Carpenter. She was a 50 year member of the Budd Park Christian Church. Emmy raised her family in northeast Kansas City, where she lived for over 60 years. She moved to the Grand Court after suffering a fall several years ago. She loved taking care of her family and was particularly known for her wonderful smile. She revealed at the end of her life that her secret ambition had been to be an interior decorator!

Emmy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Minor, Jr. in 1995; brother, John Carpenter, and her parents.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Ayres, with whom she was very close, and her husband Jerry (Bob) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Robert Ayres and his wife Michelle of Houston, TX, and Gregory Ayres of San Antonio, TX; brother, Bill Carpenter and his wife Marge of Dallas, TX; favorite cousin and virtual daughter, Sue Gilmore and numerous nieces, nephews and additional cousins.
