Jerry Mix

Jerry C. Mix, 70, Grain Valley, MO, passed away Sept. 19, 2010. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30–8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Jerry was born April 1, 1940 in Wallace, ID. He proudly served twenty years in the U.S. Army. He then began a fourteen-year career at Lake City Arsenal and retired from there in 2000. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. In the last few years he became involved with hybridizing daylilies and produced several exceptional plants.
Jerry is survived by his wife of forty-three years Betty Mix, of the home; daughter Julie Hollibaugh and husband Mike, Junction City, KS; son Jeff Mix, Grain Valley, MO; brothers Boyce Mix and wife Carol, Huntsville, AL; Dennis Mix and wife Jan, Auburn, WA; grandchildren Krista, Sarah, Sam, Katie, Lily and great-grandson Julian.
