Loretta Montgomery

Loretta L. Montgomery, 75, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away March 26, 2011 at Truman Medical Center Lakewood. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will take place at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO on Wednesday. Loretta was born October 11, 1935 in Springfield, MO. On October 11, 1955, she married Larry Montgomery. She enjoyed reading, woodcarving and crafts. Loretta created a program to supply the Hope House with hand-crafted dolls with hand-sewn fancy clothing, with help from her sister, Sue Craig and friend Carol Sessler. Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Larry Montgomery; three sisters, Sue Craig and husband Jim, Clada Cordell and husband Howard, Kay Lewis and husband David; one sister-in-law, Donna Janss; and numerous nieces and nephews.
