Dorothy D. Moon, 65, Independence, MO passed away Sept. 1, 2008. Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
Dorothy was born Nov. 15, 1942 in Lamoni, IA. Her family then moved to Independence where she grew up. She was a distribution manager for the Kansas City Star for fifteen years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Jim Moon in 1999; her parents Willard & Maxine Sams; and brother Tom Sams. She is survived by her daughter Jami Schafer, Lexington, MO; sisters Mary Sawyers and husband Lloyd; Donna Ledbetter and husband Bill; Fay Sams; Kay Sams, all of Independence, MO; grandson James Harkness, Lexington, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
