Gerald Hugh "Gary" Moore

Gerald Hugh “Gary” Moore, 90 of Kansas City, MO passed away, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS. Services will be 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Overland Park Church of the Nazarene, 9030 Lamar Ave., Overland Park, KS, 66207. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the church. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2015 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to World Vision Ministries. Gary was born October 31, 1924 in Elkhart, IN to Jesse Irvin and Mattie (Spade) Moore. He had served as a church musician most of his life in the Nazarene Church. He enjoyed HAM radio, RC planes, traveling and art. He received his BA from Olivet Nazarene College and an honorary doctorate from Mid America Nazarene University. He is survived by: a daughter, Rebecca Jones and her husband Daniel of Independence, MO; a son, Jeffry Moore and his wife Carolyn of Ridgefield, WA and 4 grandchildren, Ellice, Jake, Shane and Peter. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jacqueline in 1986, his second wife Marjorie in 2015, 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
