Calvin Morgan

Calvin David Morgan, 78, of Raytown, died October 3, 2006 at Research Medical Center. Services conducted by Elders George Gross and John Mills. Mr. Morgan was born in Snover, Michigan on April 8, 1928 the son of Marvin S. and Clara Pearl (Kitchen) Morgan. Calvin will be remembered for his love of his family and the outdoors, hunting, motorcycles and tinkering with cars. He served in the Army and Merchant Marines. Calvin was retired from the City of Independence in 1983 as the Assistant Fire Chief. He was past president of the Firefighters Union where he served several terms and as past president of the LAGERS. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Devon Park Branch. Calvin was a Priest in the church. Calvin was married to Virginia M. Lindermyer in Paso Robles, California on June 21, 1947. She survives of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Jerry A. Morgan and wife Joan of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Steve W. Morgan and wife LaDonna of Independence; and a daughter Joyce A. Morgan of Independence, by two grandchildren, Chad Morgan and wife Shelby of Blue Springs, Mo., Stacy Richtor and husband David of Salem, Mo. and five great grandchildren Junior Richtor, Allen Richtor, Cody Richtor, Sage Morgan and Mya Morgan. He is also survived by two sisters Velma Rice and Laura Hockaday and three brothers, Stanley, Clarence and Elmer Morgan and wife Ruby.
