Mary Jane Morgan (Cass)

Mary Morgan, 88, of Independence, MO passed away December 21, 2017. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the chapel. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mary was born on March 20, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Mary (McIntire) Cass. She was employed for many years at Wilcox Electric and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed reading murder mysteries and art. Survivors include; daughter Peggy Veach, daughter Kathleen Steenhusen and her husband Kirk; son Thomas Morgan; son David Morgan; son James Morgan; sister JoAnn Brown and her husband Gary; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; a large extended family and many friends. Mary is preceded in death by her husband James T. Morgan in 2001, daughter in law Kimberly Ward Morgan, great granddaughter Melodie Veach, and grandson Christopher Morgan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House.
