Obituary

Morgan Lee (Slavens) Odom got her angel wings on September 17, 2026. Morgan was born on February 13, 1986, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Morgan attended Lee's Summit High School and graduated in 2004. Morgan went on to pursue a Nursing degree graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse in August 2010. Morgan spent her entire professional career dedicating her life as a caregiver.

She loved spending time with her family, especially the family Christmas at Grandma Connies and the family annual 4th of July pool parties.

Morgan was a loving mom to daughters, Kaylyn and Kiera. She loved spending time watching movies with her girls, and being a part of their many milestones, such as; baptisms, graduation, and everything in between.

Morgan had a fiesty, opinionated type personality and was always up for a good healthy squabble with her sisters, Aimee and Lindsey.

She was a very giving person and was always willing to help everyone.

Morgan is survived by her father, Brett Slavens, her mother, Becci Slavens; daughters, Kaylyn Johnson, and Kiera Odom; brother, Michael Stevens; sister, Lindsey Morgan; step-grandmother, Pat Slavens; grandmother, Martha Keesee; biological mother, Sue Baird; boyfriend, Donell Taylor, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Morgan was preceded in death by her grandmother, Connie Liles; grandfather, Richard Slavens; step-grandfather, Wayne Liles; stepfather, David Baird; and sister, Aimee Wray-Trevino.

Morgan was taken from us too soon. God called her home and now she is singing in the angel choir with her big sister Aimee.

The family invites you to join them in celebrating Morgan's life on October 24, 2026, at Speaks Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street S. Independence, Missouri. 64055 Visitation 1-2pm, Service 2-3pm.
