Thomas B. Morgan, 63, of Independence, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at his home in Independence.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO, 64052, 816-252-7900. Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, 2022, at Carson-Speaks Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS at 12:30 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements by Carson-Speaks Chapel, 816-252-7900).

Thomas Brian Morgan was born on August 6, 1959, to James T. and Mary Jane Morgan in Kansas City, MO. He was baptized at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Independence and graduated from St. Ann’s Grade School in 1973. Tom was a Boy Scout and attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 234. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1977. He proudly enlisted in the US Navy on January 18, 1980 and served on the USS Kennedy until his discharge on September 24, 1985.

Tom leaves behind his children, Angela Morgan, Brian Morgan, and Joseph Morgan; step-daughter, Haylee Harris; sisters, Peggy Veach, Kathleen (Kirk) Steenhusen; brother, David (Kristen) Morgan; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Mary Jane Morgan and brother James Patrick Morgan.
