Bobby Nelson Morris, 83, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, April 28, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2008 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Independence, MO. Memorial gifts may be made to Boy Scout troop #282 or the Trinity Episcopal Church. Bobby was born December 20, 1924 in Marceline, MO to Charles Nelson and Maud (Judd) Morris. He was engineering supervisor for the City of Independence Water Department for 36 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Silver Star for exceptional bravery. He attended the University of Kansas and received a degree in engineering. He gave over 50 years of dedicated service to Boy Scout troop #282 at Trinity Episcopal Church. He served as scout master and was a Sagamore in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as vestryman, senior warden and was a chalice bearer. He is survived by; his wife, Roberta; 2 daughters, Marlene Call of Oak Leaf, TX and Lisa Appleby of Orlando, FL; 2 sons, Robert Michael Morris of Kansas City, MO and James Dennis Morris of Carl Junction, MO; step children, Elizabeth Draves of Colorado Springs, CO, Eli Abbott of Margate, FL and Robert Abbott of Boise, ID; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, John W. Morris, Naples, FL and Darwin Morris of Blue Springs, MO; 2 sisters, Edris Heaton of Kirksville, MO and LaLonde Easter of Ogden, UT. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Morris in 2001; 2 brothers, Charles Morris and Ronnie Morris and 2 sisters, Vanada Kirkpatrick and Beth West.
