Dean L. Morris

Dean L. Morris, 76, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Golden Living Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel. Entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Dean was born August 25, 1930 in Fall River, KS to John Alvin and Florence (Hurt) Morris. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Morris loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed fixing anything around the house, remodeling and building decks. Dean retired in 1985 from LaFarge Co. after 30 years of employment. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Owens) Morris; children Rose Rathmann and husband Dennis, Robert Morris and wife Juanita, Donald Morris, Kerry Morris, Georgia Hurt and husband Lonnie, James Morris; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Geraldine Turner; brother John Alvin Morris Jr. and wife Carol; a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Vickey Morris in 2003.
