Dolores Mae Mroz, 78 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Dolores was born August 1, 1931 in Kansas City, KS to James Fulton and Dorothy Mae (Rings) Hisel. She was united in marriage to Anthony J. Mroz in June of 1954 and converted to Catholicism. Mrs. Mroz worked for Colgate, Bendix, Lake City, Western Electric (AT&T) and Wilcox Electric before retiring in August of 1994. She was active in her kids and grandkids PTA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and sports activities. Dolores enjoyed bowling, fishing for crappie, and spending time in Las Vegas with her husband! Mrs. Mroz loved life and was fun to be around. Dolores loved the Lord and put her faith in Him, especially in her last days. Her motto in life was “there’s nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it”! Mrs. Mroz is survived by her children Patricia Myers and husband Robert, Theresa Fuimaono and husband Lene, Michael Mroz; sister-in-law Stephanie Mroz; grandchildren Chris, Sharon, Mateo, Stephanie, Christina and Michelle; great-grandchildren Kiane, Kierstin, Kananea, Mateo Jr., Alexcia, Kaden and Kailelei, Xzavier, Alayla. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony; daughter Sharon and son Thomas.
