CAROL JOYCE MULCH
Carol Joyce (Raatz) Mulch, 77, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Friday September 25th at Carson Speaks Chapel. Burial will be at Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE.
Carol was born on a farm near Hubbell, NE on October 5, 1937 as the youngest of 9 children to Carl Julius and Mathilda Katheryn (Tiejen) Raatz. As a young girl she participated in Campfire Girls, 4-H, Volleyball, and was Homecoming Queen her senior year. She graduated class of 1955. Carol married James Mulch on November 17, 1956 and together they raised three children until their separation in 1986. She worked for over 25 years in Gas Service for multiple divisions before retiring in 1995. She also enjoyed sewing, genealogy, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as being caring and pleasant natured and even for her ornery streak.
She is survived by daughter, Terrene “Terri” Diane Mulch of Independence, MO; son, Steven Douglas Mulch of Adrian, MO; grandchildren, Robert James “Bobby” Oberlander; Daniel “Danny” Chase Oberlander, and Travis Michael Mulch. She was preceded in death by her brothers Albert, Paul Robert “Dick”, Charles, Martin, and Donald “Donny” Raatz; sisters, Mildred Wolcott, Marie Potthast, and Margaret Witte; and beloved son, Daniel Wayne Mulch.
