Edward F. Multhaupt, 95 of Independence, MO , passed away Mon., Mar. 21, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Services will be 10 am Saturday, Mar. 26, 2011 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 727 N. Main, Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 pm on Friday at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO with the Masonic service beginning at 6:30 pm. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Mr. Multhaupt was born on Feb. 29, 1916 in Wellington, MO to Florans and Martha (Wulff) Multhaupt. He had been a Foreman for Union, Wire & Rope (Armco Steel) for many years. He loved farming, raising cattle, spending time with his twin brother, Elmer, taking care of his dog Peanuts and just being a friend to everyone he would meet. He was confirmed in 1929 at the St. Luke’s Evangelical Church in Wellington and then transferred to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Independence, where he was a lifelong member. He was a member of the VFW Post 1000 and a 60-year member of the Masonic Temple Gate Lodge #299. Edward was a proud Army veteran serving during WWII. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Norma and his older brother, Wilbert, his sister Edna, his twin brother, Elmer and his Parents. He is survived by several cousins and a host of friends.
