Ronald Myers

Ronald Eugene “Poppy” Myers, 73 of Buckner, MO passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Heart of God Fellowship 3720 North Buckner Tarsney Road, Buckner, MO 64016. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the church in Buckner. Donations may be made to the Adam Myers Fund c/o Metcalf Bank 100 S. Hudson Buckner, MO 64016. Ronald was born June 21, 1938 in Parsons, KS. He enlisted in the Marine Corp at an early age and proudly served for 15 years from 1954-69 including two tours in Vietnam. He later worked in construction and at Lake City Ammunition Plant before retiring in 2009 after 20 years as a supervisor for Warehouse 1. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandson. He is survived by his loving wife of over 43 years, Vickie Myers; a son, Ray Myers and his wife Kimberly of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Janice Carpenter of Emporia, KS; his grandson, Adam Myers of Blue Springs and many cousins, nieces and numerous friends.
