Nancy Ann
Cooper
December 19, 1963 – March 7, 2026
Nancy Cooper
12/19/1963 - 3/7/2026
Nancy Cooper of Independence, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, she was 62 years of age. Nancy is the daughter of the late Bill Cooper and the late Josephine (Gavin) Cooper. She was born on December 19, 1963, in Independence, Missouri. Nancy grew up in the Kentucky Hills Subdivision, she had many friends in the neighborhood.
Nancy went to Lakeview Woods State School. She loved school and would have gone to school seven days a week. She never liked it when school was closed because of weather or when the school year ended. Nancy graduated school in 1985.
IBS was Nancy’s next stop in life. This was a sheltered workshop that she enjoyed as much as school. Nancy attended a sheltered workshop in Grandview, MO until she retired.
By this time, she was living at a group home in Independence. She lived there with five other women. Nancy was independent as she could be. She and her housemates went on several out-of-town vacations over the years. Nancy enjoyed hanging out and watching television and helping Patty at dinnertime.
Nancy knew everyone and it was not uncommon for her to run into a former classmate or workshop friend. She would always be asked about by the people who know her.
Nancy was an easy-going person who enjoyed life, she was happy and very appreciative of everything. Nancy was also compassionate to those less fortunate. Her favorite things in life were eating out, doughnuts, and ice cream.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Bill Cooper (April 2012), her mother, Josephine (March 2011) and her paternal and maternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles. She leaves behind her brother, Jeff Cooper.
Nancy was a unique person, and I was proud to be her brother. Those that knew her will miss her smile and her good-natured personality.
