Nancy Colleen Forgey, 86, of Lee’s Summit, MO, stepped gently into eternity on November 8, 2025, surrounded by love and held in grace.
Born September 10, 1939, in Joplin, MO to Bennie and Helen Virginia (Bradshaw) Dinwiddie, Colleen carried a spirit rooted in faith, family, and simple joys.
A longtime resident of the Kansas City area, she first worked as a welder for Boeing, steady-handed and determined, before devoting her hands and heart to caring for little ones as a licensed daycare provider.
Colleen delighted in church fellowship, capturing life through her camera lens, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, and treasure-hunting at garage sales.
She was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church in Blue Springs, MO.
On June 18, 1959, she married her beloved Frank, and together they shared nearly 50 years of devotion before his passing on January 2, 2008.
She leaves behind two daughters, Ceann Buffon (Mike) and Kathy Gray (James); sister Bonnie Wall (Cecil); six grandchildren—Leah, Angela, Tristan, Sheena, Christina, and Alexis—and seven great-grandchildren—Haylo, Faye, Preston, Lucas, Dawson, Alex, and Emma. Her legacy lives in their laughter, kindness, and connection.
A service honoring Colleen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery near Buckner, MO. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. Attendees are invited to wear pink—her favorite color and a reflection of her loving spirit.
