In Loving Memory of
Narnie Kathryn Paxton Deason
August 9, 1940 – January 6, 2026
Narnie Kathryn Paxton Deason, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 6, 2026. She was born on August 9, 1940, to Edward and Dorothy Paxton.
Narnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Mel Deason; her sister and brother-in-law, Dee and David Ruble; her niece, Kate Sinclair, her husband Zach, and great-nephews Aleksander and Baron.
She leaves behind her children: Cyndi Fromholtz and husband Joe, Kent Hessefort and wife Suzanne, and Kristy Harper and husband Dan.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nicole Gana and her husband Grant, Megan Mains and her husband Jeffery, Hannah Fromholtz, Logan Hessefort, Nick Hessefort, Preston Hessefort, Easton Harper, and Paxton Harper.
She was blessed with great-grandchildren: Ries Freeman and husband Isaac, Rian Laster, Maylee Mains, Maddox Mains, Lyla Gana, and Grayden Gana, and two great-great-grandchildren, Rosie and Rocky.
Narnie retired from Faultless Linen after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. She treasured the time she spent with her mother and family at Table Rock Lake, creating memories that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of Central High School, Kansas City, Missouri, Class of 1958. After graduating she went to Dental Assisting School and worked in a dental office in Independence until becoming a mother and stayed home to raise her children.
From 2002 until 2023, Narnie made her home in Rogers, Arkansas — a town she deeply loved. During those years, she built lasting friendships and was very active in her church, Rogers First Assembly, where she found joy, purpose, and a close church family. In 2023, she returned to Independence to be closer to her family, a decision that brought her great comfort and happiness.
Narnie had a rare gift for making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Not only did she cherish her own family deeply, but she also made her children’s friends feel like family. To many of them, she was lovingly known as “Momma Narnie,” a title she wore with pride and joy. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
One of the most beautiful parts of Narnie’s life was her lifelong friendship with Sally Jean Wilson Nisbett. From birth until Narnie’s passing, they shared 85 years of love, loyalty, laughter, and sister-like friendship — a rare and cherished bond.
Narnie will be remembered for her warm heart, spunky attitude, unforgettable laugh, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.
