Mercy DeGuzman Navato, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012.
Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Presentation Church.
Mercy was born February 24, 1931 in Malabon, Rizal, Philippines the daughter of Filemon and Amparo Peῆa DeGuzman. She was a member of Our Lady of Presentation Church. Mercy worked as a Registered Pharmacist, co-inventor, was very active in the Filipino community in St. Louis and recently in Kansas City since 1978. She enjoyed playing the piano and devoted her life to loving and caring for her husband and family.
Mercy was preceded in death by her sister, Fidelia; brothers, Diosadado and Rudolfo; Mervin and Renato and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband Jose R. Navato, MD of 56 years; son, Michael Navato, MD, daughters, Cielo Navato-Dehning, MD, Alma Pura Navato “Garchitorena”, MD, and son, Nicholas Navato, DO; grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Mark, Anna, Mia, Miguel, Olivia, Jose, Marissa, Michael and Antonio “Nio”; sisters Videa, Melody, and Harmony; brother Augusto and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving family.
