Gennie Marie Naylor

Gennie Marie Naylor, 46, of Independence, MO passed away on January 1, 2023. Gennie was born on August 29, 1976 to Loren Everett Naylor, III and Evelyn Sue (Thompson) Naylor in Independence, MO. After completing her schooling, Gennie gained a reputation as a hard worker, most recently as an employee of the Niagara Bottling Company, for whom she worked as a machine operator. She was not afraid to get her hands dirty, rolling up her sleeves and could often be found in the middle of a home improvement project, yard work, or helping those in her family with anything they needed help with. She was a caring person who loved her family dearly, especially her niece, Jazmine (Jazzy) Naylor, and nephew, Jobe Naylor, who meant the world to her. Gennie also made it a point to visit her grandma, Virginia Naylor, after work at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home.

When Gennie was not working or caring for her family and dog, Coco, she traveled as much as she could, and even made it to Florida and Jamaica. She loved to be outdoors and would often go camping with family or friends. She loved to dance, unafraid to show the joy she was experiencing when listening to music. She had a strong spirit and will, and would stand up for the principles she believed in, refusing to back down when she knew that what she was fighting for was right. She will be missed dearly by those who cherished her.

Gennie is survived by her parents, Loren Everett Naylor, III and Evelyn Sue Naylor; brother, Michael (Gretchen) Naylor; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Naylor; and nieces and nephews, Bailey Green, Lucas Green, Jazmine “Jazzy” Naylor, and Jobe Naylor. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, MO. A visitation will take place before the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following services, a procession will take place to inurn Gennie at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO.
