Nedra Faye Lamb

Nedra Faye Lamb, 93, passed away September 27, 2026 at her home in Buckner, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 21, 1933, in Bearcreek, Missouri to Carley Shears and Ora Ruth (Hutchison) Vaughan. Faye graduated in 1951 from Wheatland High School.

Faye married Clifford Lamb on May 8, 1954. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in March 1955 until they moved to Buckner, Missouri, in June 1958, where they rented then purchased their current house in 1960. To this union, three daughters were born; Darlene, Cathy and Carla.

Clifford and Faye were known for their beautiful vegetable garden which had been planted in the same spot from their early years in Buckner up through summer 2021. Many family members and friends were recipients of fresh vegetables from their garden. Family were also known to gather at their home on the weekends during the summer months where Faye would stir up a cannister of homemade ice cream and Clifford would crank the handle on the freezer until it was just right.

From an early age, Faye was a caregiver in helping raise her younger siblings. After raising her own children, she cared for many of her nieces and nephews, grandchildren and later great grandchildren. She provided hairdressing services for neighbors, sisters and friends. She loved flowers and working in her yard, many of the flowers were transplants or cuttings from the family farm or friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Carley and Ora Vaughan, brothers Clyde Vaughn, Charles Vaughn, Dale Vaughn, Floyd Vaughan and Kenny Vaughn, sisters Velma Vaughan, Donna Whitaker, Lorene Evans, Minnie Lamb, Ruth Vaughan, and Betty Breshears.

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Dieckmann (J.T.) of Levasy, Missouri, Cathy Twente (Everett) of Napoleon, Missouri, Carla Deason (Jim Cazzell) of Camden, Missouri; brother-in-law Alvin Lamb (Gwen) of Athens, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Amanda Kennedy (Shaun), Carrie Henson (Todd), Jeff Dieckmann, Liana Twente (Darin Jones), Tyler Dieckmann (Seana), Cameron Deason, Rebecca Hurley (Joey); nine great-grandchildren, Jared Dieckmann, Charlee Hibner, Josalyn Kennedy, Jenna Dieckmann, Rosa Henson, Leo Hussey, Madyson Kennedy, Lane Dieckmann and Evan Hussey; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
