Anita Nelson

Anita L. (Baker) Nelson, 50 of Independence, MO was reunited with loved ones on Friday, June 3, 2011 due to heart complications. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will follow the services. Anita was born June 9, 1960 in Kansas City, MO to Walter L. and Rita H. (Young) Baker and had been a lifelong area resident. She is survived by; a daughter, Jennifer Baker and son in law Mario Martinez; grandkids, Brittany, Brandon, Antonio, Carlos, Christopher; a sister, Deloris Jean Palmerin; aunt Leona Vickers, Krystal and spouse Ricky, Don and wife Angie, Amy, Angela, Shawn and many great nieces and nephews including Jessie and Samantha Duckworth. Anita was preceded in death by; her mom, Rita Young; dad, Walter Baker, Sr.; sister, Cathy; brothers, Frank Baker and Walter Baker, Jr. (Duck); niece, Vanessa, a friend, Janis M. Bentch (Colvin) and her beloved cat Mary-Jane. While Anita has laid to rest, don’t feel sad. Always know that she is with everyone in spirit. She is watching over us keeping us all safe.
