Damon Michael Nelson

Damon Michael Nelson, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He was 48 years old.

Damon was born on August 4, 1974, to Richard and Kathy Nelson. He graduated from Blue Springs High School and went on to attend the University of Missouri to earn a bachelor’s degree in history. During his time at MU, he met the love of his life, Erin. In 1999 they wed, and from their union came three beautiful daughters: Elizabeth, Natalie, and Jillian. After his time at MU, Damon began work at Enterprise Rental Car. In 2005, he left Enterprise Rental Car to begin his career at Incite International, Inc. Starting in the shipping
department, Damon’s work ethic quickly led him to earn his title as operations manager.

Throughout his school days, Damon played several sports as an incredibly gifted athlete. He was a Chief’s season ticket holder and loved attending every game he could; Royals and MU games included. In his spare time, Damon loved to fish, hunt, camp, and golf. He loved being a girl-dad more than anything and valued his family above all else, furry family members included. They were and forever will be his world.

Damon is preceded in death by his son; Luke Nelson, his grandparents; Alice and Bill Hostetter, Gordon and Opal Nelson, Paul and Norma Kincade, and Claude and Ruth Cooper. He is survived by his wife; Erin, his daughters; Elizabeth, Natalie, and Jillian, his parents; Rick and Kathy Nelson his siblings; Tammy Nelson Walker (Paul), Heather Nelson Deyerle (Bob), His mother-in-law and father-in-law; David and Debby Kincade, his in-laws; Clint Kincade (Mindy), his sister-in-law Erica Kincade-Golden (Mark), and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

A memorial visitation will take place at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055) on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 12-2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Damon’s honor to the family to be placed in a trust for his daughters’ schooling.
