Violet O. Newton, 97, passed away on December 2, 2015 in Kimberling City, MO. Visitation will be from 10-11 am, December 7, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am at the chapel. Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Violet was born on January 18, 1918 in Zanoni, Missouri to Jack and Leila Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence E. Newton and all of her 24 siblings. Violet is survived by: daughters Velma Collins of Peace Valley, MO, Zelma Ray of Nixa, MO, Marcel Glynn (Bob) of Kimberling City, MO, and Vonda Freemyer (Larry) of Kimberling City, MO; sons Glen Newton (Donna) of Sugar Creek, MO, and Marvin Newton (Connie) of Denver, CO; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was an accomplished seamstress and quilters. She was famous fro her many flowers and her gravy. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com
