Betty “Millie” Nichols, 83, was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior on September 27, 2011. Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m., followed by a 2:00 p.m. service on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St, Independence, MO. Millie will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens on Salisbury Rd in Independence, MO. She leaves behind her son David Spiva; daughter-in-law Cindy Spiva; five granddaughters: Chris Osborne, Angie Van Gorp, Dana Ellison, Misty Martin, Tisha Spiva; grandson Gabriel Spiva; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Maxine Snow. She was preceded in death by her father Sydney Stevens, mother Evelyn Wester, son Charles Spiva, daughter Louise Ann Spiva, and son Virgil “Smoke” Spiva. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Down Syndrome Guild of Kansas City.
