Kevin Wayne Nickell, 48, Grain Valley, MO passed away May 2, 2008. Services will be 10 am, Wed., May 7, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation will be followed by a private committal service at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens at a later date. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Kevin was born Oct. 12, 1959 in St. Joseph, MO and graduated from St. Joseph Central High School before earning his associate degree at Milford Technical School. He worked at Bendix for seventeen years and became a Master Machinist. He spent the last twelve years at the Ford Claycomo plant as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a member of the U.A.W. and the N.R.A. He was also a member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph and attended the 39th Street Church of Christ in Independence, MO. Kevin enjoyed riding motorcycles and volunteered helping the Grain Valley High School Band. He enjoyed spending time with this family.
Kevin is survived by his wife of twenty-two years Susie Nickell; daughters Amanda Nickell and Jenny Nickell, all of the home; his parents Ken and Eva Nickell; brothers Kirby Nickell and wife Linda, all of St. Joseph, MO; Kent Nickell and wife Felicia, Kansas City, MO; sister Kimberly Springer and husband Bob, Webster Groves, MO; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
