James Noland

James Donald “Don” Noland, 79, of Independence, MO passed away on September 5, 2007 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be at 9:00 am, Saturday, Sept. 8 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm at Harris Cemetery in Barada, NE. Visitation from 7-9:00 pm Friday at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., KCMO.
Don was born December 5, 1927 in Raymore, MO to Jake and Bessie Noland. He married Loretta Shafer on October 8, 1948. Together they have been faithful members of the 39th Street Church of Christ.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta, daughter, Starlyn, sons, Donald Keith (Brenda) and Jay Dee (Roxanna) six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Althea, four brothers, and three sisters. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend with a special place in his heart for small children.
