Norma Jean Miller Lombardo age 77, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 11, 1948 in Charleston, West Virgina to Ruby Mae Holley Miller and Earl Edwin Miller. She graduated Charleston High School in 1966. After high school she joined the Air Force where she served 2 years as a Airman First Class. It was during this time where she was stationed at Shephard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas that she met Sergeant Frank James Lombardo and they were married in July 1969.
When they left the military they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she raised their family and lived a devoted life, marked by love, strength, and compassion. Norma Jean was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished presence to all who knew her. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of care, resilience, and unwavering support for those she loved.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank James Lombardo; her sister, Dorsie Cummings; her children, Frankie Lombardo, Teresa Voyles (husband Brian Voyles), Jason Lombardo (wife Crystal Lombardo); grandchildren & great grandchildren Sydney Brown (husband Justin Brown, children Greyson, Georgia, June), Gabrielle Holdaway (husband Garrison Holdaway, children Graham, Foster, and Hallie), Madison Voyles, Emily Voyles, Dalton Lombardo, Jeylan Rose, Cassandra, Chloe and Cody. And many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Norma Jean was surrounded by family at the time of her passing, a reflection of the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life. She will be remembered always for her kindness, devotion, and the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of life family gathering will be held this Spring in remembrance of Norma Jean.
