Dorothy Norris

Dorothy J. Norris of Atherton, Missouri went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 6, 2010 after a long illness. Dorothy was born January 31, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to the union of John Bersuch and Katie (Swinehart) Bersuch. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Roades and the Love of Her Life, husband of nearly 60 years, Albert R. Norris. Dorothy is survived by sister Catherine Royse and brother John Bersuch also by daughters Donna Groves, Marti Russell and husband Denny, sons Douglas L. Norris, Steve R Norris and wife Leota. 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In the past years she was very active in the St Joseph the Worker Church as well as the Jackson County Genealogy Society and Library.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Friday December 10th at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday December 9th, from 6 to 9 p.m. with rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church ,2200 N Blue Mills Rd, Independence, MO. 64058. The family would like to express our deep thanks to the staff at St Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, Mo and the Vitas Hospice Care of Kansas City for the thoughtful and loving care that was given to our mother.
