Mary Margaret Norris (Barr)

Mary Norris, 74, of Buckner, MO passed away April 29, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will take place in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Mary was born May 6, 1940 in Kansas City, MO as one of five children to Harold and Emma (Sanders) Barr. She attended East High School. She worked at numerous places including Montgomery Wards, JC Penny, and finally on the assembly line at General Motors Leeds Plant until her retirement. On May 12, 1974 she married her beloved John Norris. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, and their lake house. Mary also enjoyed gardening flowers, following her ancestry through genealogy, and sewing crafts, household items, and clothing. Her passion was her family. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary is loved and will be missed by all. Survivors include husband, John of the home; son, David Geiter (Jean) of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Glenna Jones (David) of Higginsville, MO; daughter, Shrilyn Pauls (Reg) of Odessa, MO; sons Michael Norris of Buckner, MO and Joseph Norris of Independence, MO; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two more great grandchildren expected soon; brother, Stephen Barr (Mary) of Gladstone, MO; and Sister, Martha Lally of Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Thomas and George Barr; and sisters, Marilyn Walters and Patricia Barr.
