Ronald “Stilly” L. Novak, 68, Sugar Creek, MO passed away July 2, 2015. A celebration of Stilly’s life will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 7 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 14310 East 42nd Street South, Unit 600, Marketplace Shopping Center, Independence, MO 64055. Stilly was born Nov. 4, 1946 in Independence, MO, graduated from Van Horn High School, was a US. Navy veteran and was a lifelong resident of Sugar Creek. He had worked at MO-Portland Cement Co. and for the City of Sugar Creek. He enjoyed growing tomatoes, fishing and hunting. He was an avid baseball player and loved watching sports and the Kansas City Royals on TV. He was President of Stilly’s Clubhouse, a member of Eagle’s Lodge #3717 and VFW in Sugar Creek. Stilly was preceded in death by sister Veronica “Sissy” Burkett. He is survived by brother Denny Novak and Janey Martin, Independence, MO; nephew Dan Novak and wife Angie, Grain Valley, MO; niece Diane Novak and Pat Dale, Independence, MO. and many other family members.
