Mrs. Fay Oberholtz died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Rosewood, The Groves in Independence.
Formerly Fay Brown, she was born in Fort Towson, OK, the daughter of Ben and Alvah Brown. Her father was ordained an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the family moved to Independence in 1923. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1932. She was an employee of The Jones Store Co. for 16 years, retiring in 1984. She and her late husband, Lester E. Oberholtz, were active members of the Watkins Mill Association prior to his death in 1991. Her son, Daniel E. Oberholtz, died in 2006, and her daughter, Linda Davis, lives in London.
