David Oberlander

David H. Oberlander, 76, Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 after a long battle with leukemia. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit, Rd., Independence, MO. Cremation will be followed by inurnment at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum at a later date. Visitation will be 6 �" 8 pm, with a Rosary at 7:30 pm Wed. night at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. The family suggests contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
David was born Oct. 22, 1932 in Middletown, CT. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in English in 1955. He was a member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity. He was a consulting partner with KPMG for twenty years and retired in 1989. He was Past President of the American Marketing Assoc. in Dallas, TX. David and his first wife, Martha, lived in Richardson, TX for thirty years. Following Martha’s death in 1999, he moved to Independence, MO. He married his current wife, Rose, in May of 2000. He enjoyed snow skiing, golf, traveling and painting with watercolors.
David was preceded in death by his wife Martha (Royer) Oberlander. He is survived by his wife Rose Oberlander, of the home; daughter Catherine Oberlander Maddox, Westlake Village, CA; sons Andrew R. Oberlander and wife Lauri; David H. Oberlander, Jr. and wife Samantha, all of Richardson, TX; brother James C. Oberlander and wife Martha, Garden Valley, CA; grandchildren Meredith Oberlander, Max Maddox, Madeline Maddox, Blake Oberlander, Jessica Oberlander; step-sons Michael Turner; Mark Turner and wife Barbara, all of Blue Springs, MO; Tony Turner and wife Lori, Grain Valley, MO; Fred Turner and wife Beth, Blue Springs, MO; step-grandchildren Ann Lusby and husband Kaleb, Kent Turner, Rachel Turner, Sarah Turner, Owen Turner, and Malia Turner.
