Marjorie E. “Punch” O’Dell, 89 of Independence passed away Thu. Dec. 20, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Thu. Dec. 27, 2007 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 �" 8:30 pm, Wed. Dec. 26, 2007 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association. Mrs. O’Dell was born on Sep. 15, 1918 to Albert and Ella (Garland) Cookston in Independence. She had been a Candy Dipper for Russell Stover’s Candy Company for many years. After leaving Russell Stover’s she had worked in the Check Department at Irwin Printing Company. Mimi was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed doing yard work and just spending time outdoors. She was a very outgoing person and loved to socialize with family and friends. Marjorie was a member of Cornerstone Community of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn P. O’Dell in 2001. Her survivors include two daughters, Glenda Chapman Price and husband Gregory of Independence and Sherry Whiting of Independence. A sister, Jessie “Happy” Elliott of Independence; seven grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Bolger, Darren Chapman, Chris and Ronda Whiting, and Chuck and Jill Mabie. Six great grandchildren, Kelsey and Brianna Bolger, Molly and Abby Whiting and Cameron & Tate Mabie. The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to the Rosewood Health Care Center 3N Nursing staff for the care and support they gave to Mimi.
