Frances Ohrvall

Frances Meriam Ohrvall, 83, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 surrounded by her family. She joins her husband in heaven, Charles Warren Ohrvall who died in 1996. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the church. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the church or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Frances was born March 16, 1926 in Ames, IA to Ryman J. and Meriam A. (Baur) Smith. She was very active in her church and the UMW group. Mrs. Ohrvall loved to laugh with her “LAFF” group and play bridge. Frances was a member of Eastern Star and Beauceants. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and generous heart. Her family will remember her birthday cards each year and her famous treasure hunts. Mrs. Ohrvall is survived by her children Jean (Dale) Boone, John Ohrvall, Carol (Dave) Howard, and Scott Ohrvall; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
