Sherwood S. Oldham, 89, of Liberty, MO passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2015, with his grandson Tommy Maxwell and granddaughter Brianna Maxwell by his side. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 pm, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Sherwood was born on December 12, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Granville and Emma (Little) Oldham. He was a proud Army Veteran serving in WWII on the European Theater, and Japan Occupation Force. After his service he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad as a Refrigerator Car Inspector. He retired after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. He was also dedicated husband, father, and grandfather that will be truly missed by his family. Survivors include; daughters Mary Lou Larsen (Larry) and Julie Maxwell; 11 grandchildren; Sandra Doores, Don Ocheskey, Anthony Simonie, Niccole Sampson, Janene Simonie, Jason Simonie, Tommy Maxwell, Bill Doores, Jill Simonie, Wayne Sampson, Brianna Maxwell. 8 great grandchildren: Ava Simonie,Nicolas Sampson, Myles Simonie, Greyson Sampson, Everett McAdams, Wyatt Doores, Hailey Wilson, Alyssa George. 1 great great grandchild: Landyn Wilson, and a large extended family.
