Joan O'Quin

Joan R. O’Quin, 82, of Independence, MO passed away April 24, 2010 at her home. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, at Mount Washington Cemetery. Joan was born December 7, 1927 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Northeast High School. In the early 1960’s she served as a member of the Civil Air Patrol. For many years, Joan ran a Girl Friday Business from her home. She was an avid gardener, loved oil painting and enjoyed fishing. Joan was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church, Independence, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Don Goss. Joan is survived by her loving husband, Norman O’Quin; two sons, Jim Clayton and wife ElizaBeth, Kenneth Clayton and wife Carol; stepchildren, Ruth Ann Frank, Nancy Bitler and Peggy Arrowsmith; three grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, whom she loved so much.
