Dorothy Oshel

Dorothy (Watson) Oshel, 92, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, February 10, 2012, at Truman Medical Center Lakewood. Services for Mrs. Oshel will be held on Friday, February 17, 2:00 p.m. at Stone Church Congregation; 1012 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64050. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:30-2:00 p.m. immediately preceding the service. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.

Dorothy was born on June 28, 1919 in Hawkersville, OK to parents David and Anna (Ball) Watson. Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed her time spent with her husband, Fred, fishing in Minnesota, as well as dancing, quilting, and other crafts. Mrs. Oshel never met a stranger and was always wanting to help members of the community who needed support. Above all, Dorothy loved her family very much and treasured their time spent together.

Mrs. Oshel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Oshel as well as her son, James L. Oshel. She is survived by son Freddie Oshel and wife Lorraine; son David Oshel and wife Joyce; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
