Richard Lee Overcash, 65, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Richard was born November 9, 1946 in Bolivar, MO the son of Leroy D. and Hazel Louise (Ankrom) Overcash. He worked for the Operating Engineers Union #101 for many years and later with Jefferson Bus Line as a diesel mechanic. Richard enjoyed gardening, collecting, carpentry, and most of all he loved being with family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Overcash and his father.
Survivors include his loving wife Gail of 31 years; daughters, Angie Savage, Lori Lienau, Stacy Harcombe, and Judy Lattanzi; sons, Chad Overcash, and Gary Showman; grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Erica, Haley, Tyler, Matthew, Anthony, Dillon, Summer, Sabrina, Michael and Vincent; and mother Louise Wolf.
