Mary Overton

Mary Louise Overton, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church, 1800 Northern Blvd., Independence, MO. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Mary was born May 8, 1921 in Marshall, MO to Melvin K. and Edna C. (Gray) Alderman. She was an active member of the Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church. Mrs. Overton is survived by her son Jerry Overton and his wife Tara; daughter Peggy Lasater and husband Larry; grandson Andrew Lasater and wife Sonya; great-grandchildren Cason, McKayla, and Zachary; sister Anna Lee Beem. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Virgil in ’01 and sister Betty Holt in ’99.
