Owen Austin Kean

Owen Austin Kean, 61 of Kansas City, MO went to his heavenly home and was reunited there with his parents on November 16, 2025. Services will be held at Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO, on Friday November 21, 2025. Visitation from 10:00-10:30 AM, then Eulogy and service at 10:30 AM, with burial to follow at the cemetery.

Owen was born June 21st, 1964 in Kansas City, MO to Ethel Claire (Austin) Kean and William Allen Kean. He attended Montessori school, then Lakeview Woods State School and participated in Special Olympics, bowling and playing basketball. He first worked at Casco Area Workshop then in 2005 began working at Southeast Enterprise where he worked until about 2019; being on a schedule and on time was important to Owen. He enjoyed yard-work, and helping around the home. For fun, he enjoyed going to the Casino and traveling, as well as Dancing or listening to music. He loved cheering on his favorite team the KC Chiefs as well as his favorite WWE wrestlers.

Owen loved and cared about everyone: his family, friends, housemates, workmates and especially his longtime Caregiver Mom Debbie Shanahan. His family will be forever grateful to all the people that cared for him in his life.

He is survived by his siblings: W. Alan Kean (Paula) and Claire E. Lindsey ( William “Skip”), his Nieces and Nephews David Kean, Sara Faulkner (Nat), Jeremy Lindsey (Lori) and Heather Fletcher (Josh), Five Great nieces and also his Great-Great Niece and Nephew along with several Cousins and many extended family members.
