Bonnie Delores (Pope) Pace, 84 of Independence, MO passed away, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Donations may be made in her name to Wayside Waifs 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO 64137 or to Village Care Hospice 400 NW Murray Rd Lees Summit, MO 64081. Bonnie was born July 19, 1926 in Kansas City, KS to John Martin and Lucille Mae (Hedrick) Pope and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a office manager for the IRS in Kansas City, MO for a number of years before she retired. She enjoyed going to the casinos. She was married to Gene Pace who preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by; a daughter, Karen Wittman (Danny) of Independence, MO; a sister, Betty Einess (Lud) of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren, Marilyn Baker (Larry) and John Wittman (Shannon) and 3 great grandchildren, Ryan Baker and Zachary and Shelby Wittman.
